  • Security Agent

    Full time and Part-time positions

    Maintaining a safe and welcoming retail location is the objective of the Local Roots Security Team. As part of a coordinated team of professionals, the security agent will play a vital role in attaining this goal. We are looking for confident, attentive, and personable individuals to fill these positions.

    In their role, Security Agents will welcome customers and guests onto our premises. In an effort to ensure no diversion to those under 21, identification confirmation will be another of their duties. Security Agents will assist managers with cash and inventory audits, opening and closing responsibilities, deliveries and cash pickups, as well as other necessary daily tasks. Security duties are divided between two on duty security agents, one assigned inside, and the other outside. Security agents change rolls hourly in an effort to fight complacency, and create a necessary awareness of all aspects of the operation. Overall property security will be a constant throughout their shifts.

    This position will require confidence and proper social qualities while dealing with customers. Keen observation skills will be necessary in order to identify any potential risks to customers or fellow employees. Security Agents will utilize state of the art security equipment to monitor the retail location, the exterior of the building, as well as general operations. In the event of a critical incident, security will be the confident calming force necessary to deescalate the situation.

    Although not required, prior military, corrections, or law enforcement experience is welcomed. A prerequisit for this position is at least two years full time security experience. All hired will receive mandatory state training, 32 hours in house initial training, as well as annual continuing education.

    Prior cannabis industry experience is not required.

    • Bending, stooping, or kneeling as necessary to carry out daily duties
    • Standing or sitting for long periods of time
    • Moving around the store periodically, sometimes in high foot traffic
    • Patrolling the premises, even inclement weather

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

• Ensuring the safety of employees and customers
• Assist law enforcement with investigations
• Working hand in hand with retail staff to ensure a safe and efficient retail process
• Work with security director to maintain and improve up plant security
• In the event of a critical incident, be a calming presence to assist in the de-escalation of a stressful event

· Able to assist with opening/closing of store

· Diligent about reporting any violations of state/local laws or policies

· Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

· Friendly, organized and attentive

Qualifications

· 2+ years retail sales experience in customer service and cash handling preferred

· Unsurpassed attention to detail

· Minimum age of 21

· Ability to pass any and all background checks

· Dispensary work experience preferred, but not required

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
