Sturbridge's Urban Tree Inventory Project

Get Involved! Summer 2026 and Beyond

The Sturbridge Conservation Department is launching a volunteer-driven Urban Tree Inventory, and we need you to help map and document trees across town.  We currently need volunteers to help us with this project. It will build a comprehensive record of Sturbridge's public trees capturing key data such as species, size, condition, and maintenance needs. 

How It Works Volunteers will use a simple, mobile-friendly survey to mark tree locations, take photos, and record basic observations such as species, size, and condition. No prior experience with GIS or tree identification is needed, just a willingness to get outside and make a difference!
