Summer Recreation Program- Sign Ups Available!

The Sturbridge Summer Recreation Program is located at the beautiful Cedar Lake in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. The program runs for 8 weeks, beginning on June 24th and ending August 15th, from 8:00 AM- 2:00 PM. The program is open to any Sturbridge resident (ages 7-14 years). Free swim is offered from 12:00-2:00 every day, and extended on hot days. Through our creative Art Leader, energized Play Leaders, patient Tennis instructors and watchful Lifeguards, we encourage play through the following activities: Team Sports, Nature Hikes, Talent Shows, Water Play, Board Games, Tennis Lessons, and Arts and Crafts. Our summers filled with themed weeks, surprise events and more!

• Children must be 7 years old as of June 1, 2019
• COST: $150 for the first child, $250 for two children, maximum of $300 per family.
• Applications will be accepted until July 5th at the program on Cedar Pond RD or at the Recreation Department Office (301 Main St)      
• Late fee of $50 after July 5th

Schedule and Events

Daily Schedule (subject to change):

• 8 AM Drop Off
• 9 AM Dodgeball, (or requested game) Arts & Crafts
• 10 AM Tennis (beginners)
• 11 AM Tennis (intermediate/advanced)
• 12-2PM Lunch and Swim

Additional swim times offered on hot days

Weekly Schedule

• NO PROGRAM on Thursday, July 4
• Tuesdays: Lunch Option by Friendly’s

               ($6 for meal, must be at program by 9:30 on day of to order)

• Wednesdays: Burgess Lower B.Ball Field from 9-11AM for kickball/games

                      Wacky Water Wednesdays! Water Games, be ready to get wet!

• Thursdays: Friendly’s Ice Cream $2.00 per cup
• Friday: Pizza Day. $1 per slice, pay at sign in.

Field Trips:

Connecticut Science Center, Hartford CT.

Date: July 12th

Depart from program at 9:00AM

Return to Rec Area at 2:50PM

Cost: $10 per child.

Sign up by Friday, July 5th.

There will be NO regular program at Cedar Rec that day.

Tie Dye Day: Date to be announced. Bring a white shirt for each child
