Cedar Lake Recreation Area is the hidden gem of Sturbridge!

Town Beach 2021 Season:

Lifeguards on duty beginning June 28th- August 19, 2021. Monday-Friday, 8:00-2:00 PM.

Water Testing begins Memorial Weekend, 5/31/21

After hours and weekends are At Your Own Risk. Property closes at dusk.

Town Courts are Reserved by Sturbridge Recreation Department:

  • Weekdays beginning June 28th - August 19th, 8:00 AM-2:00 PM. 
  • Thursday evenings beginning June 3rd- July 15th. 7:00-9:00 PM. Saturday 7/17 9:00-11:00 AM. 

Located on Cedar Pond RD, off of Cedar Street, this recreation area features:

  • Basketball courts (redone in 2018)
  • Tennis courts (redone in 2018)
  • Pickleball court (on furthest Tennis court)
  • Outdoor pavillion available for public rental
  • Public beach
  • Swimming area
  • Little Free Library

Lifeguards are on duty 8:00-2:00PM throughout the duration of the Summer Program, 6/28/21-8/19/21. Lifejackets are also available.

The Summer Program is for Sturbridge Residents ages 7-14 (mini camp ages 3-6 available), and runs for 8 weeks in the summer. Sign ups go home with children through Burgess and are also available at the Department, Town Hall, and Library.
