Sr. Heavy Equipment Operator / Landfill

The Town of Sturbridge has one immediate full-time (40 hr per week) opening for a Sr Heavy Equipment Operator in the Department of Public Works, Highway Division, with paid overtime. This position is a union position. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment including backhoe, excavator, street sweeper, road side mower, catch basin cleaner, grader, as well as general labor, operating light equipment, driving trucks equipped with dump bodies to transport materials, dump loose materials, and winter operations including plowing snow and treating roads among other responsibilities.  A CDL (Class B min) and hoisting license 2A, 4G, and 4E are required (2A front end loader/excavator, 4G-side boom mower, 4E – catch basin cleaner). Demonstration of operating experience required.  Crew leadership required.
