Sturbridge Historical Commission                                     May 16, 2017 Minutes

Attendance: Barbara Search, Chair; Bailey Applegate; Cathy Zavistoski

            Absent: Richard Volpe

Call to Order: 7:07 p.m.

B Search – Building appreciation program – Rick not here to review

Surveys – Pioneer Valley (Elizabeth) left 3 projects unfinished

Waiting for someone to be available

$ on hold

Phase 2 not complete

2nd survey – Mass Historical Commission wants regular reports

$20K still needs to be approved at Town Meeting

Finance Committee has approved

B Search/R Volpe is proposing to do some kind of school program

B Applegate – work with library to try to do a walking tour – propose prizes for completion

Re: Minuteman carving – from Patriot Customs – for a 24” W x 30” H x 1-1/2” D laser cut out carving (mahogany wood) = $1,865

Minuteman budget balance is $1,603.  Budget for services is $300 – could use to cover the balance.
