                                             Our Mission                                                                                         
Our Mission, The Sturbridge Affordable Housing Trust works to create low-and moderate-income housing that supports current and future residents of Sturbridge, and which empowers and strengthens the entire community. SAHT achieves this goal by:

•Embracing creative and innovative ways to create and preserve affordable housing in Sturbridge;

•Partnering with local and regional actors to amplify the trust’s impacts and coordinate responses to regional housing challenges;

•Supporting current residents to stay in Sturbridge, and ensure there is housing available for residents of all incomes and ages;

•Educating the public and local leaders on housing policy and the state of housing in Sturbridge; and

•Advocating for programs and policies that support the creation of affordable and lower cost housing options in Sturbridge.

Our Vision: The Sturbridge Affordable Housing Trust is helping to create a barn-raising mentality of neighbors helping neighbors to empower creative, collaborative, and effective way to create and preserve low-and moderate-income housing. SAHT is working to help stabilize the Sturbridge housing market and ensure that Sturbridge meets its affordable housing obligations by creating safe, supportive, and mixed-income housing. Through this work, SAHT seeks to make all residents feel welcome, and allow everyone in Sturbridge to live how and where they choose, regardless of age, race, national origin, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, marital status, or income.

Responsibilities: The Sturbridge Housing Office works to expand community housing options in Sturbridge. The Office coordinates housing-related programs, assists in the preservation and creation of affordable housing, oversees Sturbridge’s Subsidized Housing Inventory, and advocates for resident’s housing needs. The Housing Office supports and coordinates with the Sturbridge Affordable Housing Trust and the Sturbridge Housing Partnership to support the initiative of the towns Housing Production Plan.

Hours: Housing Coordinator holds open office hours on Mondays and Tuesdays 10:00AM to 4:00PM, (evening hours available upon request), for community members who have requests for assistance, questions or clarification on available housing programs. Please feel free to stop in, call or email.
