Foremen

The Town of Sturbridge has one immediate full-time (40 hr per week) opening for a Foremen in the Department of Public Works, Highway Division with paid overtime. This position is a union position. The successful candidate will be responsible for assigning, scheduling, and overseeing daily crew activities, ensuring quality of work performed, and ordering and obtaining materials, managing and disciplining crew among other responsibilities.  This position will play a key role in winter operations including determination of how to plow snow and treat roads, along with actively plowing and treating of roads.  A CDL (Class B min) and hoisting license 2A for front end loader/excavator is required. Additional hoisting licenses for 4G-side boom mower and 4E–catch basin cleaner are preferred.  Experience with management of a field crew is required, preferred experience with municipal crew.
