Fall Webform

photo of tree foliage covered in websFall webworms are small caterpillars that are known to defoliate trees and cover them in large, ugly webs. Other than damaging the appearance of trees, they generally do not harm trees physically, though trees that are repeatedly attacked may lose branches. The adult moths have white wings and generally appear from May to August. The larva are pale yellow-green and reach a length of one inch. As they grow, they encase more and more of their host trees in webs.

The best control for fall webworms is to remove the egg masses from trees by scraping the mass off the tree and destroying them
