SLAC Meeting Minutes

Minutes of the Sturbridge Lake Advisory Committee

September 16, 2021

Present: Laurie Palmer, Marita Tasse, Bruce Gran; Chris Mazeika, Leigh Darrin, Marcia Riggsby, Heather Eagan; via Zoom Laurel Carpenter.

Absent: Chuck Roy, Jim Dinopolous.

Old Business:     Minutes of July and August reviewed and accepted.

Marita provided additional information on possible alternatives to Solitude for lake health and weed management. Agreed to invite them to the next SLAC meeting planned for 10/21/2021.

Leigh provided an update from Lt. Bateman of the Sturbridge Police Department regarding the cleaning of boat patrol boats in between lake visits.

Prior to the next meeting, members will review the 2008 SLAC Report in order to divide update efforts over the winter months.

New Business:

The SLAC welcomed a visitor from 20 Birch Street on Cedar Lake. Paul LaRochelle was seeking assistance with how to obtain / manage road improvements to Birch Street, which is a private road that the town will not maintain. Offered members experience and contacts with such efforts.

The next meeting of the SLAC will take place on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 6:30 p.m.

Meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
