Vacancy on Special Events Committee
There is one (1) vacancy on the Sturbridge Special Events Committee (SEC). The SEC is a five (5) member board appointed by the Town Administrator with confirmation by the Board of Selectmen.
The SEC mission is to work towards creating new events in the Town that are enjoyable, increase community fellowship and/or raise funds for worthwhile and charitable causes. In the past, the SEC has fostered the popular Sturbridge Farmer’s Market and the annual Home of the Brave 5K Race which raises funds to support Sturbridge veterans. In July, 2023 the SEC sponsored a 5K road race to raise funds for Harrington Hospital and Breast Cancer research. The SEC is currently in the planning stages of a March 2024 event to connect town residents for any evening event.
The committee of 5 is comprised of a Selectman, Cultural Council member, and three citizens of the community at large. If you would like to serve on this Board, please send your letter of interest to:
