Business Breakfast

On September 25th the Town will host its quarterly Business Breakfast for all local business leaders, managers, and owners in Sturbridge. A free continental breakfast and coffee will be served.

The focus this quarter will be on the annual business renewal processes for Building, Fire, Health, and Liquor licensees.  At this free breakfast we'll detail each of the important steps to make sure your licenses are properly documented and submitted on-time so there are no issues for you.

In addition to the talk about licence renewals, we will also be giving an update about local Town projects, you'll hear an update from the Sturbridge Business Advocacy Group or BAG, and we will leave plenty of time at the end for questions.

If you would like to join us for this breakfast, please register by clicking here. If you have questions about the event please contact the Economic Development Coordinator by clicking here

Community Bonfire

The Town is excited to announce that the Sturbridge Host Hotel in partnership with the Sturbridge Special Events Committee are co-hosting a brand new event in Town: the Sturbridge Community Bonfire. This event will have live music, vendors, food, and of course a bonfire. It will take place on Thursday, 20 September from 5pm - 9pm.

For this event, the Host and the Committee are looking for local businesses and groups who might be interested in particpating as a vendor to sell food or other goods. If you are interested in participating as a vendor, please contact the Economic Development Coordinator as soon as possible.

Sturbridge Express & Business Advocacy Group Meeting

The pilot program for the Sturbridge Express shuttle service is well underway in Sturbridge. The Express is running on Saturday's from 2pm - 11pm through September 22nd and is free to all. We would like to thank you all for your questions, comments, and ideas for the shuttle going forward. Most importantly we want to thank you for your support and promotion of the shuttle here in Sturbridge.

As has been stated in other Business Newsletters, this idea is the brainchild of the Business Advocacy Group (BAG), an organization of business owners advocating for business in Sturbridge. These meetings are open to the public and all business owners, managers, and leaders are welcome. Their next meeting is on Thursday, September 6th starting at 5pm and it will be held at the offices of Your Hometown Shopper at 46 Hall Road. The focus of the meeting will be on the Sturbridge Express shuttle so if you have ideas, questions, or concerns this is a great venue to raise those points.

If you have questions, comments, or concerns that you would like to raise about the Sturbridge Express, those can be directed to the chair of the B.A.G., Cedric Daniels, by clicking here

Farmers Market

The Sturbridge Farmers Market has seen an extremely successful first season with dozens of vendors at each market and hundreds of patrons every week. Due to the success this season, we are extending the market until 7 October where we will be celebrating the final market of the season. If you have not experienced the Sturbridge Farmers Market now is a great time to see what it has to offer.

The Farmers Market Planning Committee is already looking to next year. If you have ideas or suggestions for the committee, or if you are looking to become an active member in the Farmers Market, you can contact the committee and express your interest by emailing them at sturbridgefarmersmkt@gmail.com
