Sturbridge Business Breakfast

This month we have our Quarter 1 business breakfast here in Sturbridge. This time the Publick House is hosting and we are excited to be talking about a number of important issues. This includes discussions on the new marijuana law, the Town's Conservation Department, and hearing from the new Business Advocacy Group here in Sturbridge. All business leaders are welcome. It is on March 6th and it will run from 8:00-9:30am. If you cannot attend do not worry, a summary will be posted online following the meeting.

Signs in Sturbridge

Last month Town hosted its third Business Class called, "Signs in Sturbridge - A Detailed Explanation of the Sign Bylaws in Town." Our speaker was our very own Town Planner Jean Bubon who provided a complete overview of the Town's Sign Bylaws, explained why we have them, and answered questions from the audience.

For those who were unable to attend, Ms. Bubon has made her presentation available for download. If you would like a copy of the presentation, please click here

If you are preparing to submit a permit for a sign or have questions, you can contact our Planning Department at 508-347-2508, or our Building Department at 508-347-2505.

Farmers Market

The Farmers Market Planning Committee is moving quickly towards announcing the official location of the Sturbridge Farmers Market this month! At this time we can say that the event will be held on Sundays this summer running roughly from June to September (official start/end dates coming shortly). Within the next week or two we will make applications available to all vendors to participate in the event. In the interim, please take a look at our rules and guidelines for the market, now available on our website

We thank everyone for their patience while we organize this event.

For information including policies, applications, and more, go to our website by clicking here or by going to the Visitor Tab on this website. Also please check out our amazing logo designed by one of our members at the top of this page.

Business Advocacy Group

As was noted in last month's Business Newsletter, there is a new group of local business owners who are collaborating to advocate for their fellow businesses here in Sturbridge. The group meets every month at a different business in Town to discuss local issues and to develop solutions. If this interests you and you would like more information, please click here to contact the Chair Cedric Daniels to learn more about the group.
