Property Taxes Due - May 1st
The Finance Department has sent out property tax bills to all businesses in town. Said bills are due by May 1st. If you have questions concerning your bill please contact the Finance Department at 508.347.2509 as soon as possible for assistance. Furthermore if you are having difficulty paying your tax bill please contact the Finance Department to discuss arranging a monthly payment plan.
Route 15 Charrette
On 29 April the town hosted a charrette to discuss the Route 15 corridor at the Publick House. There was a great turnout and excellent discussion. We encourage businesses and residents to review the meeting's findings which will be posted on our business website shortly.
Sign Inventory
As per our announcement in January (click here) and as shown in previous newsletters, the town is conducting an inventory of all commercial and industrial signs in Sturbridge. At this time town staff are going out on good weather days and taking photographs of business signs around town. Town staff will utilize town vehicles and wear some kind of reflective vest and/or have Town ID on them while conducting the inventory. Sturbridge Tourist Association - RFPs
On 4/16 the STA posted two Requests for Proposals concerning the development of (A) a town brand, and (B) a five year marketing strategy. Information on the formal bid procedures can be found by clicking here. All bids are due by end of business on Friday, 5/3. All questions can be directed to Economic Development and Tourism Coordinator via email at kfilchak@town.sturbridge.ma.us.
Annual Town Meeting
A reminder that the Annual Town Meeting for Sturbridge is coming up on Monday, 6/3. A formal announcement with the warrant articles that will be under consideration shall be posted online shortly.
Sturbridge Business Builders - Visitor Day
On Thursday, 5/23 from 7am to 9am at the Oliver Wight Tavern the Sturbridge Business Builders, our local chapter of the Business Network International (BNI), will be hosting a visitors day. Come and learn about the BNI and make some great local networking contacts.
