Sturbridge Business Breakfast - 12 March 2019

Sturbridge is preparing to host its first Business Breakfast in 2019, this time at the award winning Sturbridge Comfort Inn and Suites. The event will start at 8am in the Pistol's Cocktail Lounge where breakfast and coffee will be available and it will conclude by 9:30am. We are very excited to be at the Comfort Inn and we have a lot of exciting information to share with you that day.

Our focus for this breakfast will be on promoting Sturbridge and getting it ready for the upcoming 2019 season. We will be talking about how the town is looking to market itself in the coming months, and we'll take a look at the new "VisitWidget" designed by our partners at Discover Central Massachusetts. As always we will also give an overview of major projects and initiatives that the town is undertaking in 2019. Below is our agenda for the morning.

  • Welcome and Introductions
  • Updates from the Town
  • Promoting and Marketing Sturbridge in 2019
  • VisitWidget presentation
  • Question and Answer
  • Adjourn

We encourage all businesses to join us for this morning's activities not only to hear from our speakers, but also to network and engage with your fellow Sturbridge businesses. This is also a great opportunity to speak with town leaders and staff and to ask questions about our community. As always we will leave plenty of time at the end for questions and comments.

To join us for this event please register with the Economic Development and Tourism Coordinator at kfilchak@town.sturbridge.ma.us or call 508.347.2500 ext.1411. Please do so no later than Friday, March 8th.

Sign Inventory Project

The town is conducting a complete inventory of all commercial and industrial signs in Sturbridge starting this month. Town staff will start by systematically taking pictures of all commercial and industrial signs in town, so please be aware that you may see our fellow staff taking pictures of your signs from public ways or parking lots. Our staff will not interfere with your daily operations.

The purpose of this inventory is to help maintain accurate records of the status of all signs within the town and to ensure compliance with the town’s Zoning Bylaws (Chapter 22: SIGNS, pg. 114 - 127). In the event that signs are found to be non-compliant with town bylaws, and/or were erected without the proper approvals, the town will take the appropriate steps and work with the business to resolve those issues in accordance with our town’s Zoning Bylaws. If you would like to review the town’s Zoning Bylaw, you may do so by clicking here

AAA Travel Show

On March 1st - March 3rd the Sturbridge Tourist Association will be staffing a booth at the AAA Travel Show at Gillette Stadium, promoting the town to thousands of patrons. We will be distributing our Visitor Guides as well as our promotional folders and some business flyers to show all that the town has to offer. We will be joined by our partners at Old Sturbridge Village

Our ability to present at the AAA Travel Show was made possible by our partners at Discover Central Massachusetts
