Online Permitting

The Building Department is excited to offer on-line permitting! This system allows you to enter information about your request and upload all of your documents. While your application is not considered accepted until all required documents have been uploaded, we hope you will find this system convenient. The system will also allow you to track your permit process and view any staff comments received during the review process from the convenience of your office or home.

A copy of the contract is required with all applications

The Building Department now accepts online payments. You may make your online payment at Online Bill Payments | sturbridgema

Payments may also be made by: Mailing a check or money order to the Building Department or Dropping off payment in person by cash, check, or money order

Please note: Applying online does not mean your permit has been approved.  No work may begin until the permit has been reviewed, approved, paid for, and officially issued. The permit card must be posted at the job site prior to the start of work. Beginning work before the permit is paid for and issued will result in a fine. No exceptions.
