ROAD CLOSURE AND REPAIR NOTICE - High Street - Monday, July 13, 2026

High Street will be temporarily closed to all through traffic on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM for critical road repairs.

The Sturbridge Department of Public Works (DPW) will be excavating and repairing a small sinkhole. Because High Street is so narrow, the road must be completely closed during work hours to ensure the safety of both residents and the work crew.

What you should know:
•    Primary Work Date: Monday, July 13, 2026 (weather permitting).
•    Daily Closure Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
•    Duration: Work is expected to take one day.
•    Potential Delays: The full extent of the issue will not be known until excavation begins. If repairs require an extra day, the road will still reopen every afternoon after 3:00 PM and close again the following morning at 8:00 AM.
•    No Road Access: You will not be able to drive in or out of High Street during closure hours. High Street residents should move their car out of the road before 8:00 AM if they need to use it.
