Worcester Community Action Council – If eligible for this program they cover all types of heating bills. Ex. Oil, Gas, Electric, Pro-pane etc. Whether you rent or own. Good neighbor Energy Fund- Salvation Army - The Massachusetts Good Neighbor Energy Fund is available to any Massachusetts resident who, because of temporary financial difficulty, cannot meet a month's energy expense and is not eligible for state or federal energy assistance. For more information about eligibility requirements, please call: 1-800-334-3047.
 
Mass save - Based on your income level and household size, you may be eligible for a number of programs that help residents manage their energy costs. These programs include fuel assistance, utility discount rates, and energy efficiency services. To find out if you qualify for these programs call Mass Save: 1- 866-537-7267.  Citizens Energy- Joe 4 Oil- The Oil Heat Program offers free heating oil to people in financial need who can't afford to pay their heating bills. Each eligible household is allowed a one-time delivery per heating season of 100 gallons of home heating oil for free. Applicants must call 1-877-JOE-4-OIL (1-877-563-4645) to apply .
 
Veterans – The Town of Sturbridge Veterans Agent is a wealth of information. He works with the Veteran to assist with energy assistance needs. Contact the Veterans office directly at: 508-347-2044. Office hours are held on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. or by appointment.
 
National Grid – The Grid offers a discount rate to residential customers. You must have electric bill in your name and it must be your primary dwelling. You must be eligible for the LIHEAP program or its successor program, for which eligibility does not exceed 200% of the federal poverty level based household’s gross income. Saver’s Bank Fuel Project & Tri-Valley - In order to quality you must live in one of the following towns: Sturbridge, Southbridge, Charlton, Auburn, Grafton or Uxbridge. Must be over 60 years old. Meet monthly income qualifications. Funding is Limited once expended this program will end. Applications are available by contacting the Senior Center 508-347-7575.
