Smoke Detector Inspection Must Be Conducted Prior to the Sale of Any Property

The Sturbridge Fire Department wishes to remind residents and realtors that a smoke detector inspection must be conducted prior to the sale of any property.

After you have a closing date
Contact the Sturbridg Fire Department to schedule an inspection of your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors right away. Do not wait until the last minute! 

• Please contact the department at least ten (10) business days prior to the closing date to schedule your inspection. 
• You may call to schedule your inspection Monday through Friday from 8AM to 12PM.
• Inspections are conducted Monday through Friday between the hours of 9AM and 2PM
