Traffic Advisory for Saturday, June 27 - 250th Parade

250th Celebration

Sturbridge will be hosting a parade on Saturday, June 27th to commemorate our Nation's Semi-quincentennial. Below is listed some information on the Parade's impact on the Route 20 and Route 131 intersection which will serve as part of the parade route:

Parade Route, Date & Time:

  • Saturday, June 27, 2026
  • 10:30 AM Parade Start - The Parade will start at Stallion Hill Road and proceed east along Route 20 and then on to Route 131, down to the Town Common.
  • The Parade is estimated to take up to two (2) hours to complete - 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM

Parade Route:

  • The parade will run from the Old Sturbridge Village entrance (Stallion Hill Road) onto Route 20 Eastbound and head onto Route 131 ending at the Town Common (See attached Flyer)

Route 20 Lane Closures and Diversions:

  • Starting at 9:30 AM there will be lane closures and diversions on Route 20 around the intersection with Route 131 in order to allow the parade to proceed but also allow Route 20 traffic to flow. Traffic will flow east and west on the Westbound side of Route 20 along the parade route and then return to their normal lanes.Traffic coming up Route 131 will be diverted onto Hall Road starting at 9:30 AM.
  • The Sturbridge Police Department will have officers at all major intersections and driveways along the parade route.
