Sturbridge Residential Housing Needs Survey - Results

The Town of Sturbridge Housing Partnership with the assistance of the Central Mass Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC), will soon be undertaking a Residential Housing Needs Survey.  This year-long study will help us draft and adopt a Housing Plan that is consistent with current community needs and the goals of the Master Plan noted below:

“Housing in Sturbridge should be available to households of all kinds and residents of all income levels. Sturbridge should strive to:

  • Provide high-quality affordable housing in attractive neighborhoods through development of appropriate zoning bylaws, regulations and programs designed to encourage a variety of housing types.
  • Develop a plan designed to guide the Town toward meeting the 10% goal for housing affordability under State Statute.
  • Provide opportunities for existing low and moderate income Sturbridge residents to make improvements and repairs to their existing homes, while at the same time, increasing the affordable housing stock in the community.
  • Ensure that housing choices are available to meet the needs of current and future generations of Sturbridge”.
